MELVINDALE (WWJ) -- A more than three-hour standoff at a hotel in Wayne County ends with one person taken into custody.
Melvindale police officers and the downriver SWAT team surrounded the Red Roof Inn on Dix near Oakwood starting around 6 a.m. on Tuesday when police saw some suspicious activity involving three men on bikes.
Police heard what they thought was a gunshot and that's when more officers were called.
WWJ Newsradio 950's Charlie Langton said Melvindale police officers, with assistance from Dearborn police, were lined up outside of a nearby business with their guns drawn, waiting to see what would happen.
People were told to take cover and to exit the parking lot.
All of the Melvindale schools in the area were locked down during the standoff, but have since gone back to normal instruction.
Investigators are currently reviewing video to determine if any shots were fired.
Injuries have not been reported.
Dix Road has currently been reopened and the area is reported as safe now.
