
(WWJ) A Downriver man is jailed on 30 felony counts, after it's alleged he shot at two police officers over the weekend.
Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy on Tuesday announced a long list of charged against 31-year-old Daniel Ireland of Riverview, in connection with the shooting in Riverview on Saturday.
Just before 2 p.m. on March 27, Riverview police officers were responding to a call for a welfare check on Ireland at his home in the 14800 block of Shenandoah Drive.
Upon arrival, officers found Ireland's vehicle running outside.
It is then alleged that Ireland, wearing a tactical vest, came out of the house armed with with a semi-automatic rifle.
Ireland then went back inside and began firing directly at the officers, according to prosecutors.
He eventually surrendered to police and was arrested without further incident.
Ireland has been charged with the following:
• Two counts of Assault with Intent to Murder;
• Two counts of Assault with Intent to Do Great Bodily Harm;
• One Count of Discharge of a Firearm at an Occupied Building;
• Two counts of Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm,
• One count of Felon in Possession of a Rifle;
• Two counts of Felon in Possession of a Pistol;
• One count of Felon in Possession of Ammunition;
• Two counts of Felonious Assault;
• One count of Use of Body Armor During a Violent Felony;
• One count Malicious Destruction of Police Property,
• One Count of Resisting and Obstructing the Police:
• Fourteen counts of Felony Firearm.
Ireland was arraigned in 27th District Court in Riverview on Tuesday by Judge Elizabeth DiSanto, who set bond at $1,000,000 cash.
He will be back in court for a Probable Cause Conference set for April 9, in 28th District Court in Southgate.
