ROSEVILLE (WWJ) – A Roseville man is in custody after allegedly shooting his neighbor and leaving him bleeding in the street.

Roseville police officials say it all unfolded around 5:30 p.m. Monday when officers were called to the 18000 block of Meier Street, near Gratiot.

When officers showed up, they found a 41-year-old man from Roseville lying in the street. He had been shot once in the lower abdomen, officials said.

The suspect, a 58-year-old neighbor of the victim, immediately surrendered to police, while the victim was taken to a hospital.

Authorities said the victim was undergoing emergency surgery, but was expected to fully recover.

The suspect's name has not yet been released, pending charges, but police describe him and the victim as white males.

The suspect was taken into custody and a 9mm handgun was recovered.

Police officials tell WWJ this incident stems from “an ongoing neighbor trouble between the victim and suspect,” though the nature of that trouble was not immediately disclosed.

Roseville police are still investigating and expect to release more information on the case when it becomes available.
