(WWJ) – The search for a missing Lenawee County woman continued this week, more than two years after her disappearance.

Dee Warner was last seen on April 24 or 25 of 2021 at her home in Franklin Township, southwest of Ann Arbor. Later that year, the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI conducted digs in search of Warner’s body, but she was not found.

This week Michigan State Police began digging again in an area along M-50 near Franklin Twp. and Tipton. MSP officials confirmed the digging is related to Warner’s disappearance, according to a report from WDIV.

Digging had finished by late Thursday afternoon, but MSP officials didn’t say whether anything was found, as the investigation is still open, according to the report.

It was not immediately clear whether police had received any tips that led them to search the area this week.

In October 2021 authorities dug on hundreds of acres of farmland in search of Warner, a 52-year-old mother of five when she disappeared, according to previous reporting.

While Warner’s husband told authorities she left to start a new life, according to WDIV, in the months after her disappearance authorities said her cell phone had gone dead and her credit cards had not been used.

Anyone who knows something about Warner’s disappearance can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP. All Crime Stoppers tipsters will remain 100% anonymous.
