(WWJ) Multiple severe thunderstorm warnings and flash flood warnings are in effect across the listening area.
The National Weather Service said a thunderstorm watch is in effect for southeastern Oakland County until 10 p.m.
A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for Detroit, Ann Arbor, Dearborn and other parts of Wayne County until at least 10 p.m.
Adrian, Saline, and Tecumseh are under severe thunderstorm warnings until at least 9:15 p.m.
Monroe, Lambertville and Temperance are under one until at least 10:15 p.m.
Up to 60 miles per hour winds are possible.
Flash flood warnings are in effect for Detroit, Livonia and Dearborn and other parts of Wayne County until at least 1 a.m.
Oakland and Macomb County are under flash flood warnings until at least 12:45 a.m.
If you are on the road right now, try to get off. Avoid the highways as they are likely to fill up with water.
Take cover inside in the lowest level of the building you're currently in if you are in the path of the storm.
Heavy rains are expected all across the Metro Detroit area until the early morning hours.
Weather experts say severe thunderstorms have the potential to turn into tornados, whether the area is under a tornado warning or not.
