PONTIAC (WWJ) A convicted felon in Pontiac was found to be in possession of multiple firearms after allegedly attempting to shoot at his girlfriend.
The Oakland County Sheriff’s said they heard a call out of a shooting in the area of Auburn and Woodward around 7:40 p.m. Thursday. Upon responding, the deputies were given a suspect name and vehicle description.
Directed Patrol Deputies responded to Baldwin (300 block) between Woodward and Montcalm where they knew suspect, 35, lived. When they arrived, they found him in the driveway standing next to the vehicle. He was arrested “without” incident, according to the sheriff.
Investigators said deputies met with his girlfriend—the victim, 33, —who said he pulled up next to the car she was in and fired a single shot at her, before pulling in front of her and speeding off. She was not hurt.
She told investigators he lived with her and kept several guns in the basement.
After she gave them written and verbal consent to search the house, deputies found three firearms in the basement: a pistol grip 12 gauge shotgun, the second was another 12 gauge shotgun with a loaded drum magazine attached, and the third was a .45 caliber Glock with a loaded standard magazine and a second extended magazine loaded with 23 rounds.
The suspect denied shooting at his girlfriend. He was found to be a convicted felon—although no further details of his previous conviction were released.
He is currently housed in the Oakland County Jail pending a prosecutor review of charges.
