ST. CLAIR SHORES (WWJ) -- Two people are suspected of a road rage shooting on I-94 in St. Clair Shores overnight.

Michigan State Police say the situation started when two drivers got into an accident on the service drive at 9 Mile Road, side-swiping each other.

Both then entered eastbound I-94, and that’s when the victim claims that the other driver opened fire.

The victim then left the freeway and reported the shooting to police, giving a detailed description of the suspect.

The suspect and his passenger were arrested when they turned up at the police station to report the accident, which they claimed was a hit-and-run.

Troopers later searched the freeway, and located one shell casing on the left shoulder near the 11 Mile Road exit.

There were no injuries reported, and both suspects were released from police custody pending further investigation.
