(WWJ) A suspect was tracked down and taken into custody by police, late Tuesday morning, after crashing into an apartment sign in Waterford Township.
The incident unfolded at the Waterford Square Apartments, along Pontiac Lake Road near Cass Road.
After crashing the car, the suspect took off running but was located and apprehended a short time later.

WWJ Newsradio 950 tipster Kevin Ludwig was nearby and saw the police response, which included at least a dozen officers combing the area.
"They had cars, of course, at the Waterford Square Apartments but also on some of the side streets, too... So you could tell that a search was going on," Ludwig said.
"You're not used to seeing that kind of a situation, especially out here in Waterford. You know, probably you don't see that situation in a lot of areas," he added. "So it was a little overwhelming to see all that, but you feel better knowing these police officers and these sheriffs can respond that quickly."
The Oakland County Sheriff's Office confirmed that they are on the scene and that one person was arrested. Reports say the suspect was driving a stolen vehicle, but WWJ is still working to confirm the details.
Th sheriff's office is expected to release more information this afternoon.
