DETROIT (WWJ) – Two men wanted in connection with a downtown Detroit shooting that injured a man and a teen girl last weekend have turned themselves in.
Detroit police officials say the two suspects turned themselves in on Thursday, but their names have not been released.
The suspects were wanted for a shooting near Cadillac Square and Randolph – a few blocks away from Campus Martius Park – just before midnight on May 13.
Police officials said two groups of men had gotten into a verbal argument that escalated to gunfire.
A 17-year-old girl and a 22-year-old man who were walking in the area were hit by the gunfire.
Authorities said the victims did not have anything to do with the people involved in the shooting.
The victims were said to be in stable condition on Sunday.
Officials have not released any details about what led to the initial argument between the two groups or what made it boil over to gunfire.
