Three injured after car collides with train in Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ) -- An investigation is underway after a car collided with a train Monday night on Detroit’s east side, injuring three people.

Details on the incident remain scarce, but authorities confirmed to WWJ that three people were injured and were in temporary serious condition.

The incident happened in the area of Mt. Elliott and 7 Mile Road, but it was not clear what led to the collision.

The three victims were reportedly riding in a Chevrolet Camaro and dragged 500 yards, according to a report from Fox 2.

It was not clear whether it was a passenger train.

The investigation is ongoing.
