WILLIAMS TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - Police came to the assistance of a Great Horned Owl that was hurt after it was struck by a car on US-10 Monday evening.
Michigan State Police said the injured bird was reported by a concerned citizen after it was spotted on the side of the road along US-10 in Williams Township.
Sgt. David Murchie, identified by United Press International, was able to capture the owl, which troopers believe sustained a broken wing when it was clipped by a vehicle.
Authorities said the animal was handed over to wildlife rehabilitators and is expected to be "owl" good.
Law enforcement in the listening area have stepped in on multiple occasions this year to assist animals in need.
