TROY (WWJ) – A Pontiac woman is awaiting charges after Troy police found her drunk and sleeping behind the wheel on a Sunday morning earlier this week.

Around 8 a.m. on July 9 officers were called to the area of Livernois and Long Lake Roads after getting reports of a possible drunk driver.

The caller told police the driver of a silver Ford Escape was “all over the road” and tailgating other drivers in the area, according to Troy police.

Officers eventually found the SUV stopped at the intersection of Livernois and Big Beaver, where the 24-year-old woman was asleep at the wheel.

After officers woke her, she told police she was on her way to work and “believed she was on Woodward Road.”

The woman, whose name has not been released, blew a .15% on a preliminary breath test and was arrested. She was taken to the Troy Police Lock-Up Facility, where chemical breath tests came back with results of .14% and .15%.

The case was forwarded to the Troy Police Department’s Detective Bureau for appropriate charges.
