(WWJ) One Pontiac man is dead and two others are jailed following a violent street fight last Friday night.

Tarrant Deland Moore Jr., 29, is charged with murder in the stabbing death of 55-year-old Charles William. A second suspect, Jerrimi Deshad Shaw, 33, is charged with assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder in the death – a 10-year felony.

According to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office, the incident happened late on the night of Aug. 20, in the 20 block of Newberry Street near Monroe Street in Pontiac.

Deputies responded to the scene, just after 11 p.m., on a report of multiple people fighting in the street — a group that included Moore and Shaw, according to investigators

Upon arrival, deputies found William unconscious and bleeding heavily from multiple stab wounds. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Another alleged victim — a 48-year-old Pontiac woman — was able to shed some light on what led to the killing, the sheriff's office said.

The woman told deputies that she and William were on Newberry when they began to argue. When turned and walked away, William struck her in the back of the head with a metal pipe. She then stumbled and lost consciousness, the woman said.

After that, it's believed that Moore stabbed William to death, according to the sheriff's office.

Moore and Shaw were both arraigned before 50th District Judge Cynthia Walker on Wednesday. Moore was ordered held without bond in the Oakland County Jail, while $250,000 cash or surety bond was set for Shaw.

A probable cause conference in the case is scheduled for Sept. 7, followed by a preliminary exam on Sept. 14.

OCSO said the woman involved was treated at a hospital for her injuries. The relationship between all of those involved was not immediately known.
