CADILLAC (WWJ) -- A Cadillac woman was arrested last week after authorities say she was caught driving drunk on the highway with an open bottle of liquor.
Just before 5:30 p.m. Friday, a trooper from the Michigan State Police Seventh District Hometown Security Team stopped a vehicle for trying to pass multiple vehicles in the turn lane on M-115 near M-55 in Cadillac.
MSP said the driver, identified as 53-year-old Kelly Marie Fullerton, "displayed signs of intoxication" and did not have a valid driver's license.
The trooper also found a cloth bag containing a half-empty bottle of rum on the passenger side floorboard.
Sobriety tests were administered, and Fullerton was taken into custody.
She was lodged in the Wexford County Jail and arraigned in the 84th District Court in Wexford County on one count Felony Operating While Intoxicated Third Offense, one count Driving While License Suspended, and one count Open Intoxicant in Vehicle.
Bond was set at $20,000, 10% cash/surety, and Fullerton's next court appearance was scheduled for Sept. 20.
