WANTED: Hammer-wielding man who vandalized Bread Basket Deli in Downtown Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ) --Investigators in Detroit are asking for help to identify and locate a man who did a lor of damage with a hammer at a downtown deli.

According to Crime Stoppers, little after noon on Friday, April 7, an unidentified man walked into the Bread Basket Deli, on E. Jefferson Ave, in Downtown Detroit and "without provocation" damaged property with a hammer.

Officials said there was more than $20,000 worth of damage, although what, exactly, he hit with the hammer was not disclosed.

The suspect fled the scene before police arrived, driving off in a newer-model black Ford F-150 pickup truck. No injuries were reported.

On Friday, Crime Stoppers released some surveillance photos of the suspect, asking anyone who has information to call in with a tip.

There is a cash reward of up to $1,000 available for information that leads to the vandal's arrest.
