The Detroit Police Department is seeking information from the public to identify and locate a suspect in an unarmed robbery outside a business on the west side.
At around 4:20 p.m., Monday, July 3, 2023, police said the 13-year-old victim was shopping with his mom at grocery store in the 5900 block of Michigan Ave., near Livernois.
As they were walking in the parking lot, police said the suspect approached on foot and grabbed a gold necklace the boy was wearing right off of his neck.
The suspect then fled the scene on foot.
Police said the victim did sustain minor injuries in the incident, but refused medical attention.

The suspect is described as a male, around 6 feet tall, with his hair in short locks. He was last seen wearing sunglasses, a white t-shirt, dark acid washed jeans, and black and white shoes with pink on the heels.
