WARREN (WWJ) -- A 15-year-old student is in custody as police investigate a reported gun threat at Lincoln High School in Warren.

Warren Police Commissioner Bill Dwyer said his department got a call just before 2 p.m. Wednesday about a tenth grade student in a classroom with a gun.

The school resource officer called for backup. Police responded within three minutes, Dwyer said, and arrested the 15-year-old who'd allegedly threatened another student.

Dwyer told WWJ Newsradio 950 that officers recovered an empty magazine at the school, on Federal Ave. near 9 Mile Rd., but were still searching for the gun later Wednesday.

The school was put on lockdown for a short time, but all students have since been dismissed for the day.

No one was injured.

“I am proud that the school officials and the police department were able to work together to quickly and safely resolve this dangerous situation," Dwyer added, in a statement. "Our training and close co-operation paid off in keeping these students safe. I am grateful for the quick reaction of the school resource officer and responding uniformed personnel.”

Police said the investigation will continue and detectives will be meeting the Macomb County Prosecutors office to determine charges.
