GRAND RAPIDS (WWJ/AP) -- Strong winds and a steel door have led to a man's death in Grand Rapids.
Grand Rapids firefighters said the incident happened around 10 p.m. on Saturday at the Sandy Point Beach House restaurant.
Officials say a man died after being struck by a steel door during the storms that night.
The National Weather Service reported winds were gusting as high as 49 mph around the time of the incident.
When first responders arrived, officials said they found the man on the floor with a "traumatic injury."
Lt. Bill Smith says a large, hinged door on a shipping container in the outside bar area of the restaurant hit the man.
Police have not released the man's name.
