At around 9 p.m. on May 3, Westland police officers responded to a home on Judy Drive on a report of a possible homicide.

In the garage of the home, police found the 45-year-old victim dead with numerous lacerations across her body.

According to prosecutors, it's alleged that William Grant stabbed his wife multiple times with a pair of scissors, fatally injuring her.

The husband fled the scene before police arrived, but was located and arrested by Westland police officers a short time late.

William Grant arraigned in 18th District Court on Friday on one count of Premeditated First-Degree Murder, one count of Felony Murder, and one count of Torture. Bond was denied, and he was remanded to the Wayne County Jail while he will await his next court appearance, set for May 19.

Authorities have not yet publicly discussed a possible motive or further circumstances of this horrific case.
