(WWJ) A metro Detroit man has been arrested in connection with the violent siege at the U.S. Capitol earlier this month.
According to an FBI affidavit, Michael Joseph Foy of Westland used a hockey stick to attack a Metropolitan Police Department officer who'd been dragged into a crowd of rioters.

FBI investigators said the attack, which was caught on video, lasted around 16 seconds and ended when Foy was knocked down by another person involved in the melee.
While the suspect was wearing a hood at the time of the attack, the FBI said he took it down just afterword, revealing a "clear image of his face" before raising the hockey stick and shouting in apparent celebration.
A short-time later, Foy is seen crawling through a broken window at the Capitol, according to the affidavit.
On or around Jan. 10, the FBI received a tip and a photo via Twitter, identifying Foy as a suspect in the case. Later, the FBI found that Foy's father on Jan. 6 had posted a photo of his son, dressed in the same clothing he wore in the video, and carrying a hockey stick with a Trump flag draped over it.
He was arrested in Wixom and appeared Thursday via Zoom video conference before Eastern District of Michigan U.S. District Magistrate Judge David Grand.
Foy is accused of several crimes, including interfering with a law enforcement officer's duties, knowingly entering a restricted building without without lawful authority, and obstructing or impede an official proceeding.
