DETROIT (WWJ) -- Now more than a year since a woman was murdered on Detroit's east side, her loved ones are still waiting for justice.

Crime Stoppers of Michigan has renewed its call for tips in the case of 36-year-old Karmen Marie Hogan, "a photographer, poet, and friend to all...taken from her family far too soon."

According to investigators, Hogan was killed at around 12:30 p.m. on June 30, 2022, near the intersection of Van Dyke and Badger.

She was shot by an unknown suspect, and succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds.

At a Crime Stoppers news conference following the murder last year, family members described Hogan as a much-loved daughter, sister and friend who had a lot to offer her community.

"Karmen was very, very adventurous; Karmen was very, very industrious. And Karmen pursued all of her dreams, and she pursued her ideas," said her father, Rev. Teamos Hogan. "I'll tell you, she was a great young lady, and her life shouldn't have been cut off that short."

"She always cheered us on in all of out accomplishments, but she was so humble that she never boasted about her own," added the victim's sister-in-law, Samantha Hogan. "And she had so many accomplishments."

With no known suspects and few clues in this case, Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $2,500 for the tip that leads to the arrest of the person who killed Karmen Hogan.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to help the victim's family by making an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP (1-800-773-2587). Tips may also be submitted online at this link.

As always, tipsters will stay 100% anonymous, and will not be asked their names, to speak to police or to testify in court.

Cash rewards are paid by Crime Stoppers upon an arrest in a case. They do not wait for a conviction.
