DETROIT (WWJ) -- Authorities in Detroit are investigating a fiery crash that landed one person in the hospital and another in police custody.
Officials say the collision happened a little after 5 a.m. when the female driver of a Jeep driving westbound on 7 Mile Road struck a Nissan traveling eastbound head-on, near Conant.
WWJ Newsradio 950's Charlie Langton said the Nissan's airbags were deployed and the Jeep then caught on fire.
The driver of the Jeep reportedly got out without any injuries and fled the scene
A short time later, the woman was apprehended by police. Apparently the ride she was looking for called 911 and turned her into the police, said officials.
The woman driving the Nissan was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and is expected to be okay.
Police are still investigating the incident and will be checking Project Green Light footage from nearby businesses.
