PONTIAC, Mich. (WWJ) -- A $2,000 reward is being offered for tips that lead to an arrest after a shooting in Pontiac Monday night that left one woman dead and another injured.
It all unfolded shortly after 11 p.m. in the area of North Perry Street and Giddings Road, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.
Police say they received a call from a 51-year-old Pontiac man who said his vehicle had been shot at and a 56-year-old Pontiac woman in the front passenger seat had been shot in the upper right thigh.

The sheriff’s office says the victims’ vehicle was headed north on North Perry when gray or silver Chrysler 300 pulled up to their passenger side and began shooting at them, before fleeing north on North Perry and turning west on East Walton.
When deputies arrived to the scene, they put the 56-year-old victim in their patrol car and raced her to a nearby hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
Another woman, a 26-year-old Auburn Hills resident in the back right passenger seat, was also shot in the leg and taken to the hospital. She was treated for her injuries and released.
The 51-year-old driver and another man, a 57-year-old from Pontiac, were uninjured in the incident.
Police have not provided a description of the suspects, but have said it appears a gray or silver Chrysler 300 followed the victims’ vehicle just prior to the shooting.
That vehicle was seen on surveillance video running a red light immediately after the shooting.
Authorities released a grainy image of that vehicle on Tuesday in hopes that someone may recognize it.

Many details surrounding the shooting, including a possible motive, remain unclear, but police have stressed that it was not a road rage incident.
Deputies recovered seven shell casings and one bullet fragment from the scene. The investigation is still ongoing.
The sheriff’s office is asking anyone with information about the suspects or this shooting should call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP. Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest. All callers will remain anonymous.
