
DETROIT (WWJ) – Police in Detroit are asking the public for help in finding a missing woman who left her healthcare facility in late December and hasn’t been seen since.
Shanika Penson, who suffers from a mental illness, was last seen leaving the Team Mental Health facility in the 2900 block of Russell Street near Eastern Market on Dec. 30.

Police say she failed to return home.
She was last seen wearing a black jacket with black fur around the hood, police said.
The 47-year-old Penson is described as approximately 5-foot-3, 140 lbs., with black and gray hair and brown eyes.
Detroit police are asking anyone who has seen Shanika Penson to call the Detroit Police Department's 6th Precinct at 313-596-5601.
