Woman points gun at Dollar General employee during robbery in Detroit [VIDEO]

Police are asking the public for help to ID the suspect, who was caught on camera

DETROIT (WWJ) -- Police are hoping that a tip from the public will help them to identity a female suspect wanted in an armed robbery in Detroit.

According to Detroit Police, at around 7:20 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 12, a woman filled up a shopping cart with merchandise at the Dollar General on E. 7 Mile Rd. near Schoenherr Rd.

When the woman walked out of the store with the cart without paying for the items, an employee followed and grabbed the cart to stop her.

That's when police said the suspect pulled out a handgun, pointed it at the employee, and then fled with some of the merchandise.

No shots were fired and no injuries were reported.

On Friday, police were still searching for the suspect, who was caught on surveillance video.
