Police searching for suspects, vehicle after shots fired into Detroit home, killing woman

DETROIT (WWJ) -- Investigators are searching for suspects and a car caught on camera after a woman was killed in a shooting Sunday night on Detroit's west side.

At 10:56 p.m. on May 1, Detroit Police said someone fired shots into a home in the 13500 block of Rockdale, near Outer Dr. and I-96.

A 36-year-old woman in the house was fatally wounded.

On Wednesday, police were searching for a light colored sedan, possibly a Chevy Cruze — believed to be the suspect’s vehicle — which was was seen leaving the location at the time of the incident.

It's unclear at this time if the woman was targeted, or what the motive might have been for the shooting.

The victim's name was not immediately released.
