ALLEN PARK (WWJ) -- “Well this is a new one.”
That was the reaction from Allen Park police after a suspect started a fire at a local gas station to distract the clerk while they shoplifted.
The security camera footage was posted to the Allen Park Police Department’s Facebook page, and shows a woman igniting a display by the register and then continuing to browse the store.
“…Can we please get a name for this individual. We need a sitdown ASAP,” police wrote.
Officials also added that only about $15 worth of items were stolen, and expressed their exasperation over the situation, advising, "...don't do this stuff."
