Woman suspected of quadruple murder in northern Michigan arrested

CLARE (WWJ) -- A woman who named as a suspect in a quadruple murder in Northern Michigan has been arrested.

Judy Boyer, 54, was taken into custody without incident Thursday morning, according to authorities.

The Clare County Sheriff's Office and Michigan State Police were called Wednesday afternoon to a reported shooting on South Harrison Avenue in Clare, south of Houghton Lake.

Sheriff John Wilson said two people who were shot and wounded died overnight, and two more bodies were found on the property.

The names of the victims have not been released, but they reportedly include a 39-year-old man; 36-year-old man; 85-year-old man; and 61-year-old woman.

Following the slayings, police said they were searching for Boyer in connection with the slayings, noting that she last seen wearing Mickey Mouse pajama pants and traveling in a maroon or red 1998 Chevy pickup truck, headed toward Cadillac.

Later, police announced that they had found and arrested Boyer, although they did not say where.

She is being held at the Clare County Jail, awaiting an arraignment on expected murder charges.

A possible motive for the killings it still unknown.
