(WWJ) – The fight over Michigan’s minimum wage rages on, as the Court of Appeals on Tuesday heard arguments over a judge’s ruling back in July that the Michigan legislature in 2018 illegally adopted and amended a voter-led ballot initiative to raise the state’s minimum wage.

While the legislature adopted the law, it then amended it in the same session, drastically changing what was in the law. While that ruling is still up for debate in the Court of Appeals, so too is the debate over what changing the minimum wage would do for Michiganders.

On a new Daily J, WWJ’s Zach Clark and Brian Fisher sort out what is turning into a heated battle between two ideals and hear from some experts on what the fight over minimum wage means for the state’s small business owners.
