WYANDOTTE (WWJ) – A Wyandotte couple has been arrested for selling drugs with their young child in the car.

While authorities have not released the suspects’ names or ages, Wyandotte police officials say they were caught selling prescription pills earlier this month.

“Making it worse was the fact that they had their two year old child in the backseat while they were out drug dealing,” the Wyandotte Police Department said in a Facebook post from Feb. 24.

“Unfortunately, this is a very common practice amongst drug dealers and it has been going on since the beginning of time. Most feel that having a child in the car while doing criminal activities allows them to fly under the radar more.”

The official who made the humorous Facebook post said “this old crusty veteran has even witnessed drug dealers hiding their supply and/or money inside car seats occupied by babies.”

It was not immediately clear what type of pills the couple was selling, where the arrest took place or what charges they will be facing.
