People who could help the Federal Bureau of Investigation track down a bank robber known as the “Sticky Note Bandit” might be able to collect a $5,000 reward.

Their use of sticky notes earned them the moniker.

According to the FBI’s Houston, Texas, office, the FBI Violent Crime Task Force needs the public’s help to identify the thief, who is believed to be male but has been photographed dressed as a woman.

Authorities describe the Sticky Note Bandit as a Black male who is approximately 5’8” tall with a thin to medium build. During their two most recent robberies, they wore a black wig, black sunglasses, a blue medical mask, a green women’s style sweater and black women’s ballet flats. They also carried a black purse.

In a Twitter post, the FBI shared photos of the suspect.

“Y’all not gonna find the man with these pictures,” said a comment on the post.

As of last Friday, the bandit had robbed three banks in 10 days. Their spree started at approximately 1:30 p.m. July 5 at the Hancock Whitney Bank at 2979 North Loop West.

“The suspect entered the bank dressed as a female, approached a teller, and handed them a threatening note written on a sticky note which demanded cash,” said the FBI. “The robber left the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. No one was physically hurt during the robbery.”

Next, the Sticky Note Bandit headed to the Wells Fargo Bank located at 13106 Woodforest Blvd. at around noon July 11. Again, they entered the bank dressed as a woman and handed a teller a threatening sticky note demanding cash. This attempt was less successful.

“The teller walked away from the counter and locked themselves in the back room for safety. The suspect remained in the bank lobby for a short time, then fled the scene on foot without any money. No one was physically hurt during the robbery,” said the FBI.

However, they tried again the following day at 3:30 p.m., this time targeting the Wells Fargo Bank located at 6255 Bissonnet Street.

“In this robbery, the suspect entered the bank dressed as a female, approached a teller, and handed them a threatening note written on a sticky note which demanded cash,” said the FBI. “The robber left the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. No one was physically hurt during the robbery.”

Anyone who might have information that could lead to the apprehension of the suspect is asked to call the Crime Stoppers tip line at 713-222-TIPS (8477) or the FBI Houston Field Office at (713) 693-5000.

“Tips may also be submitted to Crime Stoppers through their website, www.crime-stoppers.org, or the Houston Crime Stoppers mobile phone app which can be downloaded for both iPhone and Android devices. All tipsters remain anonymous,” said the FBI.
