Dylan Crews joins pantheon of LSU ring-pointers, and yes, it was planned

Don't listen to the ESPN broadcast, they don't know what they're looking at. Ring pointing is an LSU thing now, Steph Curry need not apply.

The latest to join the list of LSU greats who have preemptively ordered their title rings is Dylan Crews, who legged out a triple in dramatic fashion in the 8th inning, then stood up, grinned and pointed to the ring finger on his left hand.

Not long after Tre' Morgan and Tommy White did the same.

"I’m not gonna lie, I thought about it for sure," Crews said. "I saw Joey B do it and Reese do it, so I thought I had a good moment to do it right there in the 8th inning and did it."

He's referring, of course, to Joe Burrow who won a national title with LSU football in the 2019 season, and Angel Reese who helped lead the LSU women to an NCAA Tournament title earlier this year. One reason they were all able to do it so confidently? Blowouts. The Tigers beat Clemson 42-25 with Joe Burrow at the helm. The LSU women set a title-game scoring record in a 102-85 beatdown of Iowa. And LSU baseball set a CWS record for hits (24) in an 18-4 demolition of Florida on Monday night.

LSU fans can say thank you for keeping blood pressure in check, and also some great images, which Crews had yet to see as he spoke to the media after earning the Tigers' 7th National Title.

"It’s going to be a good picture," he said, "so I’m looking forward to seeing it.”
