The Brian Kelly era is well underway at LSU. The new head coach has filled all of the leadership roles for the LSU football Tigers and today he introduced the defensive and special teams coordinators to the media.

"Putting a staff together is not about hiring and then immediately getting in front of the media. We needed to spend a little time together," Kelly explained the duration between staff completion and today's news conference.

Kelly outlined exactly what he was looking for in any of his coaches, "Develop our players.  Player development is at the core of who I am  in my over thirty years of experience."  That is music to ears of LSU fans based on the previous coaching staff's failure to do so.

Brian Polian is the team's special teams coordinator. Kelly touted Polian's tremendous track record, "His experience spans over two decades.  Success?  He's been a part of two BCS playoff experiences.".  Polian was on Kelly's staff for the previous five seasons at Notre Dame.

Kelly then introduced his defensive coordinator Matt House. Coordinator experience played a big factor in the decision to bring House in as the DC. "Here's a man who has multiple coordinator roles at three different schools...in particular in the SEC. Having experience in the SEC was certainly something I was looking for," Kelly said.

House has coached every position on the defensive side of the ball at some point in his career. Coach Kelly really emphasized that the defense will have multiple looks with several different personnel packages.

Tomorrow Kelly will introduce the media to the offensive staff.
