Week 5 of the Louisiana high school football season is here, and as October begins, the push for the playoffs begins in earnest.
In New Orleans, titans will clash in the Catholic League. Edna Karr and St. Augustine will put their win streaks on the line against each other. Meanwhile Jesuit and Holy Cross will renew their rivalry.
In North Louisiana, a powerhouse plays a defending state champion for homecoming.
In Acadiana, several small schools look to keep themselves in the Top 10 of their respective classes.
And on the Northshore, St. Tammany Parish's teams are playing on Thursday because of a parish fair.

On Friday, the Manning Family Children's WWL Prep Football Roundup Presented by Acadian Ambulance and Dr. Pepper will be live at the Wildcat Stadium in Destrehan as the Destrehan Wildcats host the Terrebonne Tigers in District 8-5-A action. The winner will move to 2-0 in district play and take an early lead in the district title race. We'll have correspondents reporting from the Edna Karr/St. Augustine game as well as the Jesuit/Holy Cross, De La Salle/Shaw, and Lafayette Christian/Central games plus other major contests across Louisiana.
