If the Oregon Ducks want to cool off LSU's Gavin Dugas, a fire extinguisher might be the best option.
A day after bashing a home run and legging out an inside-the-park home run -- officially ruled a triple and an error -- it was clear a night of sleep did nothing to take Dugas out of the zone. Batting cleanup against freshman Andrew Mosiello, Dugas followed a two-out hit by Tre' Morgan with a two-run blast over center field to pin LSU to an early 2-run lead.

But Dugas wasn't done. After Oregon took back momentum with 5 runs off a handful of LSU pitchers, Dugas helped pull some of that back with a leadoff home run in the 4th inning, but grounded out to first leading off the 6th inning against Ducks reliever Isaac Ayon.

Those runs were crucial to LSU's hopes, with several other Tigers hitters struggling to find success against the Ducks' starter, who went 4 innings before the ball was handed to Ayon. Dylan Crews and Zach Arnold, both of whom had been red-hot heading into Monday, began the game 0-for-6 with a strikeout apiece at the top two slots of LSU's lineup.
But it was Drew Bianco that came through with the next big blast, stepping up to the plate in the 6th inning trailing by one run and blasting an 0-1 pitch from Ayon over the center field wall to put LSU back ahead 6-5.

The lead was short-lived, however, with Oregon power hitter Kenyon Yovan hitting a 2-run blast of his own to put Oregon back ahead 7-6.
