The were a few new numbers at Saints practice this morning, making taking attendance even tougher.

It will be a little easier to count heads next week after the 85-man roster goes to 80 following Monday Night football. Added to the Black & Gold ahead of preseason game No. 2 were:

- No. 17, WR Kevin White
- No. 21, S Natrell Jamerson (Saints' 5th-round
pick in 2018)
- No. 39, CB Bryan Mills
- No. 65, OL Jordan Mills
- No. 66, OL Caleb Benenoch

Coach Sean Payton said after practice that WR Jake Lampman and CB Lawrence Woods were released. OT Michael Brown and CB Adonis Alexander were waived with an injury designation.

Not seen inside the team’s facility were:

- K Wil Lutz
- WR Tommylee Lewis
- RB Alvin Kamara
- C/G Will Clapp
- OT Ryan Ramczyk
- LB Pete Werner (R)
- DE Marcus Davenport
- DE Payton Turner (R)

Hopefully Ramczyk being absent for a 2nd straight workout is nothing serious. The defense has been pouring on the pressure the entire camp, but when the All-Pro tackle is absent, the rush is even more ravenous.

Taysom Hill was first up under center and finished 6 of 10 in team drills with an interception. Safety Marcus Williams might have been a little more motivated to work after seeing Jamal Adams new contract. He read the play perfectly, streaking towards the sideline to pluck the ball out the air intended for Marquez Callaway. Hill had hooked up with Callaway for a nice gain earlier where, the QB rolled out and delivered it accurately, unlike the pick.

Jameis Winston ended up 7 of 13 with the 2nd squad and also tossed an interception. He also could have had a touchdown to Lil’Jordan Humphrey, but the pass was overthrown. Winston's INT hung up in the air forever (1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi, 3 Mississippi) looking for Ty Montgomery, but Brian Poole was able to grab the gift first.

A GOOD FIRST IMPRESSION

Kevin White scored a touchdown his first day wearing Black & Gold. Rookie Ian Book found the 6ft3, 216-pound target in the endzone during a redzone drill. White just got arrived so he seems to be at ease in the offense.

Injuries have haunted him. White has only played in 17 games since getting drafted 7th overall in 2015, but is a low-risk, high reward signing for the Saints.
