The earliest Saints running back Alvin Kamara would be able to return from the NFL’s reserve/COVID-19 list is Sunday when New Orleans host the Chicago Bears in a Wild Card round matchup.
According to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter the Saints are hopeful that Kamara will play in the matchup and have had him virtually participating in practice.
Saints coach Sean Payton said earlier this week that any preparation for Kamara before the game would done virtually and it seems the team is aiming to make sure of that.
Saints quarterback Drew Brees said Wednesday that he though Kamara would be “fine” if he had to play without practicing ahead of the game.
"I think it's something all of us have had to deal with in some way, whether it be an injury or whatever the absence is, where you have to find your way to prepare both physically, mentally, emotionally, leading up to the game even with limited reps,” Brees said.
