The NFL Draft is an exciting time for a lot of people, but it wasn't for Bobby Hebert on Thursday night.
He was NOT a fan of the Saints' selection of Clemson DT Bryan Bresee at No. 29, and for one reason in particular.
“I think David Onyemata is better than him, and he’s with the Falcons now and Shy Tuttle is with the Carolina Panthers, he’s better than him," Hebert said on WWL's Draft Fest. "That’s what I’m saying.”

His main gripe came in the form of one major concern: Will Bresee be an impact player along a defensive line that really needs one in 2023? Clemson edge rusher Myles Murphy, who went to the Bengals a pick before the Saints, would've been that, he said. But Bresee has too many question marks and too little production.
“Did he make that much of an impact that made any difference for Clemson?" Hebert asks. "I didn’t witness that.”
The Cajun Cannon's co-hosts were not as pessimistic, with Deuce McAllister cajoling Hebert for a bit more enthusiasm. In fairness, it was a very late night for everyone involved. When Dennis Allen took the podium to speak on his final pick, it was before the draft even ended and he joked that he wanted to keep it short because it was past his bedtime.
Allen made it clear that Bresee was one of the players they had been targeting throughout the draft, and Mike Detillier made an important point in rebuttal to Hebert.
"If Bresee's not hurt, he's never getting to 29," he said.
In the end, Hebert says he's willing to withhold judgement for now. But he does want to see Bresee at least outplay Malcolm Roach, a UDFA from 2020, in the DT group. He'll also join Nathan Shepherd and Khalen Saunders, two players signed to help fill the void of the departed Tuttle and Onyemata.
But when training camp rolls around? There's something he'll be watching for.
"I'll be concerned if I see Cesar Ruiz kicking his a**," he said, later adding: "I hope he proves me wrong."
