“This is ultimate winning football.”

That's what Bobby Hebert had to say after the New Orleans Saints went on the road and beat the Washington Football Team 33-22. Specifically, the Cajun Cannon was referencing how the Black and Gold did the in the red zone.

“Red zone offense [and] red zone defense, the Saints are #1 in the league in both.”

New Orleans scored touchdowns on both of their red zone possessions while Washington did on just two of their four. They had to settle for a field goal on one drive and threw an interception on the other.

It was a solid team performance, but the Cajun Cannon had a couple players in mind for game balls after their efforts. First up on his list was the punter, Blake Gillikin.

“The net punting average [was] 51.6 [yards per punt],” Hebert said. “That is beyond All-Pro, not just Pro Bowl. 51.6. They have a stat [for punts] inside the 20. Inside the 20? How about inside the 5 yard line? That was one of the greatest punting performances in the National Football League this season. That had an impact on the Saints winning and the Saints scoring.”

Hebert thought cornerback Marson Lattimore, who had 6 pass deflections, also deserved one.

“He was awesome,” Hebert said. “He was concentrating. Because [Terry] McLaurin, their receiver is top 5 in the NFL. He got targeted 11 times – and most of the time Lattimore was on him – he only had 4 receptions for 46 yards.”
