The New Orleans Saints are having a quarterback competition, but it's the defense that has come up with the answers on most days at training camp.
That was the case on Thursday, with the defense coming up with a pair of pick-sixes in team drills, though one appeared to be negated by penalty. Ken Crawley nabbed an interception on a Jameis Winston pass intended for Chris Hogan in 7-on-7s, but a ref in attendance tossed a flag for defensive holding.
Later it was Andrew Dowell who broke early on a Taysom Hill pass intended for Nick Vannett over the middle and sprinted downfield for what would've been a touchdown.
"I'm hoping that maybe our defense is better than we think they are," Cajun Cannon Bobby Hebert. "So I'm looking at the glass half full. Maybe our defense is going to be that good. Because the offense did struggle."
