Have you heard? There's a new voice of the Saints and his name is Mike Hoss.

You might know about his three-decade broadcasting career, moose costume and travails around New Orleans ... but here's five (or so) things you probably didn't know about WWL Radio's new play-by-play man, as told by Hoss himself:

━━━━

BETTER LATE THAN NEVER

I did not watch one episode of “The Office” or “Parks and Rec” when they were on TV but have binged watched both of them now several times streaming, and they are my go-to when I just want something on the TV.

━━━━

KETCHUP, HOLD THE TOMATOES

I love ketchup, and basically all sauces made with tomatoes, but if you give me a tomato to eat, it will not happen.  I love melted American Cheese (any cheese really) on my burger, but if you give me a slice of American cheese un-melted, you will get it right back, and always, hold the mayo.

And on the flip side, if you put out Tootsie Rolls, Peanut M&M’s (frozen), or Nacho Cheese Doritos, expect them to be gone. Not some, all.

SNAKES ... WHY DID IT HAVE TO BE SNAKES?
I do not like snakes, I mean, I do not like them at all, don’t care if they are small or not dangerous, nope.

I also am not fond of flying, either (Yes, I understand my new job), yet despite that, I will sometimes park near the airport and watch planes take off and land … and the first place I go when at the zoo is the reptile house.  Frightened of both of them, but also mesmerized by them.

━━━━

PLAYING & DANCING
In the last 5 years have tried my hand at Trombone, Trumpet, Snare drum for drumline, and my latest is an acoustic guitar.  I would describe me as someone who does not play a musical instrument, except during commercials.

I am not very good, but you might as well know I like to line dance.  My Wobble’s gotten shaky in the last few years.

━━━━

SWIRLED … NOT SHAKEN (OR STIRRED)

Here is how I place the order:
- Ketel One Martini
- Gently swirled (not Shaken or Stirred)
- On the Rocks
- Olive and Onion in the drink
- Dirt on the side
- Side glass of rocks only (to replace the sometimes-small chips of ice in the drink)
- Wife hiding under table or behind menu

At home or traveling close enough I bring my own ice cubes.
I make the large 2-inch
1-inch squares
and a half-inch cube. (perfection)

P.S.

I’ll quote my wife here, “pretty damn good at Beer Pong and Corn Hole” … Oh, and give me a Labrador Retriever of any color by my side and I’m a fairly happy camper
