Talk about the Saints quarterback competition quickly took a backseat following news about the NFL’s single-season receptions leader, Michael Thomas, set to miss time after ankle surgery.

Thomas isn’t expected to return until October, which leaves an even bigger question at wide receiver than New Orleans already had heading into 2021.

Never fear, social media is here to help! Chad Johnson hasn't been in the league since 2011, but thinks he can help the Saints. He is asking for a shot at donning the Black & Gold for very minimal compensation:

“OchoCinco” last played in New England, TEN YEARS ago. He tried to make the Miami Dolphins in 2012, but the 6-time Pro Bowlers' contract was terminated following an arrest in a domestic battery case.

The now 43-year old has appeared in 166 games, totaling 766 receptions for 11,059 yards and 67 touchdowns.

We last saw Johnson making a million dollars for fighting Brian Maxwell as an undercard in the pay-per-view event featuring Floyd Mayweather vs.
Logan Paul at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

The Saints are reportedly kicking the tires on other veteran wide receivers, with former Patriots and Panthers wide receiver Chris Hogan among the players the team has had in for a workout.
