The New Orleans Saints went on national television this week and put together a performance worthy of all the criticism possible.

The Rams defense moved the ball at will. The Saints failed in critical moments. With a chance to seize momentum at the end of the first half, it was instead a turnover on downs and a Rams touchdown to take any life out of the visiting team.

The final score was 30-7 before a late rally made it look more respectable. The takedowns on social media were loud, fast and mostly merited, but one stood out in the form of NFL Hall of Famer and Saints legend Morten Andersen.

"Saints fans deserve better than what we saw tonight," Andersen posted to social media shortly after the game ended.

It's true, and unfortunately it's been the case too much of the time in a frustrating and disappointing 2023 season. With the loss, the Saints are guaranteed to not have any winning streak of more than two games, and now need to win their final two and hope for some assistance to make the postseason.

The Saints now get 10 days off before a trip to Tampa Bay in Week 17, then close out with a home date vs the Falcons.
