Can’t Find Mike at Saints practice. There was some hope, but wide receiver Michael Thomas remains on the PUP list recovering from ankle surgery as the Black & Gold got back to work on a short week for Sunday’s game against Tampa Bay. Thomas last played in the Saints' loss to the Bucs last postseason, but did not record a catch in Drew Brees' last hurrah.
Taysom Hill remains missing from the practice field and there’s been radio silence on his status since suffering a concussion on October10th.
Guard Andrus Peat (pectoral), Defensive end Payton Turner (calf) and running back Dwayne Washington (neck) also did not take part in the workout.
On a much more positive note, receiver and return specialist Deonte Harris was back in limited action from a hamstring issue after missing last game. His speed puts fear into the opposition on special teams and the offense.
David Onyemata looks primed to unleash some pent-up frustration coming off a 6-game suspension. The defensive tackle’s ability to create havoc in the middle, puts pressure in quarterbacks’ faces and is a must to try and throw the legend Tom Brady off his mark some.
For the Bucs, DT Ndamukong Suh returned to a full-go after not practicing Wednesday with a knee issue, the rest of Tampa's injury report remained the same.
