Kwon Alexander drew rave reviews during his seven-game stint as a member of the New Orleans Saints last season, and as of Tuesday he's back in the fold.

The former LSU standout linebacker agreed to a deal with the team Tuesday, news first reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Alexander joined the Saints midway through the 2020 season through a trade with the San Francisco 49ers, but had his season end early due to an Achilles tear suffered in a Week 16 blowout of the Minnesota Vikings. He was released early in the offseason as the team shed more than $100 million to get under the salary cap.

Alexander has been posting videos regularly updating his status while he rehabbed from the injury, and reportedly visited the Saints in July after being cleared to return to action.

Alexander joins a linebacker room that features All-Pro Demario Davis, but young faces alongside him in second-year pro Zack Baun and rookie second-rounder Pete Werner.

Alexander 57 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, a sack, 2 forced fumbles and 2 fumble recoveries in the 2020 season. Alexander's deal is a friendly one to the Saints, reported at a maximum of $3 million with incentives.

The Saints have kept busy with signings over the past few weeks, also bringing in veterans in WRs Chris Hogan and Tommylee Lewis, CBs Prince Amukamara and KeiVarae Russell, and RB Devonta Freeman.
