LSU missed linebacker Whit Weeks in the loss to Vanderbilt, and it doesn’t look like he’ll play this Saturday against 3rd ranked Texas A&M.
On the first availability report of the week, Weeks is listed as doubtful with a bone bruise that has him in a walking boot.
“Whit is still non-weight bearing, he’s in the boot and we’ll keep the boot on for another couple of days, before we know what we can do, he’s been doing some additional treatments and he’s feeling better, but we won’t know on him until the end of the week,” coach Brian Kelly said on a zoom conference with SEC reporters.
Defensive tackle Bernard Gooden also missed the Vanderbilt game with a collarbone injury. He’s listed as questionable. Senior defensive end Jimari Butler is listed as probable after missing the Commodores game with an ankle sprain.
The Tigers could use Gooden and Butler as Texas A&M is ranked 17th in total offense, averaging 464 yards a game.
But LSU does not have to worry about running back Le’Veon Moss. The All-SEC running back from Istrouma High School in Baton Rouge will not play because of an ankle injury.
Moss is the team’s second leading rusher this season.
Rueben Owens II is A&M’s leading rusher this season. Owens, who made the All-SEC Freshman team two years ago, has rushed for 396 yards and is coming off a two-touchdown performance against Arkansas.
