With the New Orleans Saints needing to add depth following an injury to Tony Jones Jr., it appears they'll do so by brining back one of their earlier finds in the undrafted free agent pool.

The Saints plan to sign running back Devine Ozigbo off the Jacksonville Jaguars practice squad, according to a report from Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun.

The news comes days after Jones suffered a significant ankle injury during a Week 4 loss to the New York Giants. The injury will reportedly keep Jones out at least two weeks. It's unclear whether he'll be reverted to injured reserve, which would mean a minimum of three weeks on the shelf.

The Saints cleared a roster spot with the release of struggling kicker Aldrick Rosas, though they were expected to sign former Bears kicker Cody Parkey, according to a report from Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.football.

The Saints had reportedly hosted several running backs for workouts, including former Atlanta Falcons RBs Ito Smith and Brian Hill, and former Texans running backs Duke Johnson and Lamar Miller. The lone other running backs listed on the active roster are star Alvin Kamara and special teams ace Dwayne Washington.

Ozigbo signed with the Saints as an undrafted free agent in 2019 after a college career at Nebraska. The stocky back was impressive in the preseason, but ended up being on the final cuts ahead of the initial 53-man roster.

He was claimed off waivers by the Jaguars, where he's been ever since. Ozigbo has received positive reviews in his role, but only recorded significant statistics in one game. That was Week 17 of the 2019 season, when he ran for 27 yards on nine carries and caught three passes for 23 yards.

The Saints are particularly thin at running back this year after cutting veteran Latavius Murray, who had been displaced in the backup role due to Jones' performance. He's since signed with the Baltimore Ravens, where he's seen starter reps due to a slew of injuries on the Ravens' side.
