NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Bill Cosby may be out of prison after his sexual assault conviction was overturned, but the comedian is not welcome to bring his humor to an iconic comedy club in Greenwich Village.

Comedy Cellar owner Noam Dworman told TMZ on Sunday that the club doesn’t even want the 83-year-old comedian to set foot inside.

While the basement venue did allow Louis C.K. and Aziz Ansari to perform there after their respective sexual misconduct scandals, Dworman said the audience wouldn’t support Cosby making an appearance onstage.

TMZ previously reported that Cosby was planning a return to standup comedy after the Pennsylvania Supreme Court threw out his sexual assault conviction and he was released from prison after serving nearly three years of a three-to-10-year sentence.

A rep for Cosby, Andrew Wyatt, pushed back against the Comedy Cellar, telling TMZ, “That's one club owner and in the words of the King of R&B Bobby Brown, ‘it's his prerogative to do what he wants to do.’”
