4 people injured in 3 N.O. shootings including one on Royal St. in the French Quarter

Four people are injured in three separate shooting in New Orleans early Monday morning.

The NOPD is investigating a shooting in the 300 block of Royal Street. Initial NOPD reports show one adult male arrived at the hospital by private vehicle after sustaining a gunshot wound. Their condition is unknown at this time.

Police are also investigating another shooting that happened in the 5700 block of North Claiborne Avenue.

Investigators say an adult male and female sustained gunshot wounds. The female victim was transported to the hospital by EMS. The male victim arrived at the hospital by private vehicle.

The NOPD is investigating a third shooting Monday morning. Police say it happened in the 1400 block of Mandeville Street. Police say one adult male was transported to the hospital by EMS after sustaining a gunshot wound. No further details are currently available.

These are the latest shootings to plague New Orleans as the city faces a violent crime wave. According to The New Orleans City Council Crime Dashboard, there have been 276 non-fatal shootings in 2021 so far. That is a 71% increase over 2020’s 161 shootings.
