Jefferson Parish Sheriff Joe Lopinto says his deputies made an arrest in an altercation at a gas station in Metairie, which ended with one man fatally shooting another man.
The shooting happened at about 4:00pm Friday at a Chevron in the 2300 block of Clearview Parkway.
Sheriff Lopinto says his deputies used digital forensics to identify Walter Sippio, 20, of New Orleans as the shooting suspect. The victim was identified as 36-year-old Dwayne Nosacka of Metairie.

Sippio turned himself in about 9:00 pm Friday night at the JPSO Eastbank Operations Center where he is held on a $500,000 bond.
Lopinto says the shooting started when Sippio allegedly cut in front of Nosacka who was waiting in line to get gas. A verbal altercation broke out between the two men.
Sheriff Lopinto says that is when Sippio went back to his car, retrieved a gun, and fatally shot Nosacka then fled the scene.

Witnesses at the scene provide a good description of both Sippio and his vehicle, along with capturing images of the vehicle said Lopinto.
“We were able to recover the suspect, the firearm, and the vehicle at this time,” said Lopinto.
"This is a senseless killing," said Lopinto. "No one should be dying over gas. I said yesterday that the suspect should just turn himself in because we wouldn't rest until we found him, and he did. The JPSO will continue to do everything in our power to keep Jefferson Parish a safe place to live and raise a family, and right now we need everyone to come together and cooler heads to prevail as we attempt to recover from Hurricane Ida."
Lopinto says Sippio claimed he shot Nosacka in self-defense. However, eyewitness accounts and evidence on the scene did not support Sippio's claim according to the sheriff.
